Bible Classes:
Children in the age range from toddlers to 5th grade participate in separate age-appropriate classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. Classes are interactive and include teaching, question and answer, discussion, and can also include a theme oriented game or craft activity to help reinforce the lesson. Our curriculum for preschool through 2nd grade is focused on key Bible stories from both the Old and New Testaments that provide a holistic view of how all of the stories in the Bible point to God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ, whereas our curriculum for 3rd through 5th grade is structured around more in-depth lessons and discussion about personal application.
Providing a safe environment in which children can learn about God is our highest responsibility. We have put policies and procedures in place to protect children which include:
- Background checks and waiting periods for all teachers, classroom assistants, and chaperones.
- Training on policies and procedures prior to participation and periodically thereafter.
- Photo identification of authorized teachers, classroom assistants, and chaperones.
- Two unrelated authorized adults present during classes and other children’s activities.
As a parent, you are welcome to be in the classroom with your child as an observer. Please contact the Deacon of Children’s Education with any questions about our Child Safety Program.
