What a great Work Day we had together last Saturday, April 4th! Our building and grounds look great because of everyone’s hard work and cooperation. There were two elements of the day that I want to highlight. First, it was awesome to have members of all ages working together. Everywhere on the grounds there were Grandpas to grandkids pitching in to weed, spread bark mulch, clean-up or haul off waste. Several of out young families came with all the children in tow and everyone found something helpful to do. As a matter of fact we had so much great participation that we completed the whole list of chores, plus more!
Second, there was a great spirit of ownership and team work the whole morning. As chores were completed, everyone found some new task to dive into with others. I never had that irritating feeling that you get when it becomes clear that folks are in attendance just to do the simplest and shortest task and then take off. Rather, everyone was eager to get projects done and several folks initiated projects that they noticed needed to be done, and then did them well.
The building and grounds are ours, they belong to us all and that was very clear Saturday. So, thanks to everyone for your investment of yourselves and your families in making the place look great! And a special thank you to Mike Broberg for arranging all the landscaping supplies.
Last, my favorite part of the day. you ask? Watching Jim Petty follow Micah Walker around the entire property all morning long. He never stopped going and neither did Jim! That’s how a family of God is supposed to work!
Sounds like a great day at Keizer!
Yes! Thank you Jim for making Micah one happy camper ALL morning long. He had a blast!
