Around sixty folks gathered in the Fellowship Room last Saturday evening, April 14th, to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal, down home ambiance and good conversations with lots of laughter as well. Our teens, their parents and others put on a fine western themed feast. There was pulled pork sandwiches, homemade potato salad and coleslaw, plus cheesecake, pecan pie and fruit cobbler for dessert. The teens decorated the room “Corral-style,” helped prepare the meal, served each guest and then cleaned it all up. The evening’s entertainment included Zach Broberg spinning a few country western tunes as DJ for the party, the singing of the Williamson Sister Trio, a poetry reading by Lois Stevens, a drawing for several pieces of art the teens made for the occasion, and my personal favorite; the comedic stylings of Elise Merklin! ( Indeed, anyone can roast beef, but…) All told if was a great evening and it raised some of the money the teens will use for their annual summer mission trip. Thanks for your support! HOJO
