Position: Ministry Summer Intern (Summer 2025)
The Keizer Church of Christ seeks a Ministry Intern for the summer of 2025. We are a medium sized Northwest congregation (around 145 in attendance) located in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon, 45 miles south of Portland. We are a healthy, positive, and encouraging body of believers who actively pursue unity and fellowship among churches of Christ in the region. Through this internship we hope to help shape and encourage the next generation of ministers in the Pacific Northwest. The internship is designed for a young man who feels called to the ministry and is currently (or considering) undergoing training at a college, university, or other formal program of study. We view this internship as a part of his education. It is for someone who will appreciate and benefit from a summer of first-hand exposure to all the aspects of ministry under the guidance of an experienced ministry staff. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in preaching ministry or with ties to the Pacific Northwest. 
Requirements
A baptized male believer 19-25 years old with a commitment to the fellowship of the churches of Christ.
Goals for the Internship
1. The intern will learn how to function as a member of our ministry team which includes our elders, deacons and ministry staff.
2. The intern will participate in a wide variety of ministries and areas of service within our congregation.
3. The intern will learn an intergenerational approach to ministry in the church.
4. The intern will further develop their spiritual giftedness for the service of the church.
Ministry Opportunities & Responsibilities:
• Prepare and deliver at least 3 sermons (2 expository, 1 topical) for the Keizer church or other small congregations in the area
• Prepare and deliver two Lord’s Supper meditations during our Sunday assembly
• Teach two adult Bible classes
• Participate fully in our Young Adults of Keizer (YAK) ministry
• Assist with teen activities as needed (weekly Bible classes, devotionals, etc.)
• Teach two children’s Bible lessons
• Participate in our weekly Leadership and Staff meetings and bi-weekly Deacons’ meetings
• Other duties as assigned
Personal Spiritual and Ministry development:
• Keep a Spiritual Formation Journal during the internship
• Participate in the Northwest School of Discipleship backpacking trip
• Conduct interviews with three local ministers to develop mentoring friendships
• Meet with one of our elders and ministers weekly for prayer and encouragement
• Read and discuss two books which foster growth and preparedness for ministry
Compensation: Room and Board provided by church members, salary, plus travel expenses
