Our Ministries
Ministries are the areas of service in which we collectively invest our time and energy into. These programs and activities are designed to facilitate the spiritual growth and interpersonal connections of our members. We are members of Christ’s Church and we recognize that we are, first and foremost, a family (Mark 10:30). Because of that, we strive to strengthen our familial bonds, develop relationships of trust and service, and encourage each other to live out the faith we confess.
Children
We believe that helping our kids develop a deeper relationship with God is one of our highest callings. To facilitate this, we have Bible classes for various age groups and junior worship for children ages 3 – 2nd grade each Sunday, as well as activities throughout the year, including Vacation Bible School. We also participate as a congregation in Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) each April in Richland Washington where participants develop skills in leadership, Bible knowledge, and Christian servanthood.
Youth
Our goal is to nurture lifelong disciples of Jesus Christ through a ministry that is family-centered, congregation-integrated, and intentionally intergenerational. A Youth Steering Ministry (YSM) — made up of parents and interested members — plans and oversees all programming for grades 6–12, meeting at least quarterly. Core activities include Middle and High School Bible classes, monthly fun or service events with spiritual content, mission trips (rotating between local, regional, and international), as well as various summer camps and youth rallies. We also host our own youth rally, Rally in the Valley, each October.
Women
Ladies’ Connection is our women’s ministry which is designed to give opportunities for the women of our body to get to know and encourage each other. Some highlighted activities we plan each year are a ladies retreat, Spring ladies tea, movie nights, Christmas chocolate exchange, and more. We also host baby and wedding showers, as well as a weekly Mommy & Me playgroup on Monday mornings.
Men
Our Men’s Ministry is vital in our effort to foster spiritual growth and connectedness within our congregation. This ministry is responsible for organizing our annual Men’s Retreat held in January or February, accountability groups, as well as various fellowship activities throughout the year. Our Men’s Ministry is also responsible for organizing and coordinating our involvement in area-wide “Men’s Days.” These events, which are hosted by our sister churches in the Willamette Valley, include biblical teaching focused on men’s needs and is coupled with a fellowship activity.
Seniors
The Master’s group is the name of our lively group of seniors that meet weekly on Thursday mornings at 10:30am. They start their meeting with a time to share jokes, followed by Bible study and prayer. They have a potluck on the second Thursday of the month and are always looking for ways to build up and serve this church, the community and each other. They would love to have you join them and don’t discriminate by age!
Community Garden
Come grow with us! Our community garden consists of 20 4’x8′ raised beds available from March through November for members of our community to use. For a $25 annual fee, we’ll provide water, hand tools, and compost – while God provides the rain, sunlight, and growth. If you would like to participate, fill out the application in the packet below and return it to our office. Boxes are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Connection Groups
Our small groups meet on Sundays after worship at various times, and are designed to facilitate connections between our members – which is why we call them Connection Groups! This is a time to get to know one another in a more casual settings in members homes, where we share meals, share conversations, and share our lives.
